Evaluations

Each module consists of online lectures, complemented by discussion sessions, both of which hinge on a variety of offline activities, including assigned and complementary readings as well as films, depending on the module. The style and scope of the lectures will depend on the individual instructors, who come from from different disciplines, departments, and universities. Due to the overall design of the program, which highlights the historical or diachronic dimension of American culture, students will experience several modules simultaneously as they progress through the semester, and as they work on their creative writing project.

Creative Writing Project

Students will complete their Creative Writing Project throughout the semester (70%). Students will need to turn in several drafts of their work in order to receive feedback from different instructors. Towards the end of the semester, the academic committee will review and score the final draft of the project, after which the student will share their work online.

Quizzes

There will also be two online evaluations during the semester (30%), which will evaluate the contents of the following modules: American Studies and American Literature.
